Section 11
Technology and Consulting Services
:
(1) Every doctor, health worker or health institution providing services should generally: adopt the following techniques:-
(a) Manual vacuum aspiration (MVA), electronic vacuum aspiration (EVA), pharmacological and dilatation and curettage (D&C) for pregnancies up to twelve weeks
(b) Dilatation and Evacuation (D&E) in addition to the techniques mentioned in Clause (a) for a period exceeding twelve weeks and any other technique considered professionally appropriate.
(2) When the doctor provides the service or gives an opinion on the matter or when the health worker provides the service by adopting the technical procedure according to sub-section (1) and performing a safe abortion, the possible risk of physical harm to the pregnant woman concerned from a technical point of view, its disadvantages, alternatives and family health and family Consultancy services should also be provided for planning matters.
